Writing a Song Name in an Essay - Part 2

Writing a Song Name in an Essay - Part 2My article on writing a song name in an essay proved very useful to me and I wanted to take a moment to share my insights with you. The overall theme of the article was about how the lyrics to a song can be used in essays. The last time I did this, I found that in many cases, my essay was given the upper hand over my essay. This is what happened. A fellow student told me that he loved our essay topic and it was very persuasive. We chatted for a while and he mentioned that he was a songwriter. He claimed that he had written several popular songs for musicians.Going back to my essay, I made sure to get into some of the best music that I knew about. The music spoke loudly to me and I loved it. The writer was no doubt the star of my essay. Now, I love to write a song in an essay. I want to share my insights with you.So my conclusion is that it's important to be prepared when starting to write a song name in an essay. My advice would be to go out and do some research about your topic and then build from there. Take notes throughout the process. It would be a good idea to copy the music to a flash drive or some other media to keep it safe. One thing that I suggest is to use your music as an aid to make sure that you are following the correct form. I would always start by trying to see if you can write it as a song instead of writing an essay. If you find yourself having trouble with the overall structure and the structure of the words, then you probably need to rethink your approach. But my final thought is that you should try not to rely on MLA style MLA. You can still use a lot of it in your essay but use it sparingly. I like to use the classic form of MLA and I am comfortable with it. My next post will discuss that. The overall idea of the article was to help you find ways to make the words of your essay sing. Take this as a challenge. Use the tools available to help you write a song name in an essay.

The Force Behind The Pendulum - 1884 Words

In our world, there are largely visible trends throughout many facets of our lives. Whether they occur in music, history, literature, or any other areas, these trends are a result of one movement reacting to the previous one. This reactionary movement can be equated to the swinging of a cultural pendulum; a movement which may be examined, and even predicted. In our society today that pendulum has swung from realism in literature to transrealism, and it is about to swing past towards hyperrealism. The force behind the pendulum can be viewed through the different trends throughout history. If, for example, we take a look at the Enlightenment era and how the literature and ideology morphs into that of the Romantic era, events and their reactions can be studied. The Enlightenment era was also referred to as the Age of Reason, due to people taking on a more secular and logical point of view. This was largely a philosophical movement, during which time there was also a great emphasis on causation versus correlation, and both of these are exemplified through Voltaire’s, satirical, Candide. Briefly, Candide follows the story of our main character, Candide, as the love of his life is taken away from him and he journeys in an attempt to get her back. He travels the world and comes in and out of riches, and all throughout this work there are competing philosophies at play, each portrayed by a different character. Love at a young age is just an obsession Essay Example For Students

Love at a young age is just an obsession Essay Love at a young age is just an obsession. As children, our first relationships are object relationships. The people we like arent people; they are objects of our obsession, and our obsessions are driven by vanity and narcissism. We are obsessed with what we consider an ideal, something we create. The main character in the short story Araby by James Joyce is a young boy that looks at every event in his life through narcissistic eyes. He thinks he is in love with a girl, but in reality, he is obsessed by his thoughts and his ideal. In the story, the boy lives in a home that once belonged to a priest that passed away. While looking around the house, the protagonist notices a few books, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦the pages of which were curled and damp: The Abbot, by Walter Scott, The Devout Communicant, and The Memoirs of Vidocq. I liked the last because its leaves were yellow. This shows the reader how the boy is driven by vanity. He isnt concerned at all about the contents of the books, but instead by what the books looked liked. Because of our heros youthful narcissism, his idea of beauty determines what he likes. The boy never mentions his own name, or that of the girl. Its as if her name isnt even important, and that she is just the object of his obsession. Our hero just refers to the girl as Managans sister. He has created an ideal and is in love with his fantasy, not the actual girl. In every instance our hero sees the girl, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦her figureà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦ is defined by the lightà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦ This is a perfect example of how the boy is preoccupied with his own idea of beauty. Managans sister is the center of our heros every thought. He thinks about her and obsesses over her constantly, no matter where he is or what he does. He is not concerned about who the girl is, but rather is image of her. The protagonist says, Her image accompanied me even in places the most hostile to romance. He then describes an unusual place to think of her, yet the boy is still surrounded by her image while he is there. He even finds himself praising her as if she is some sort of God.

Phrenology

Phrenology is a pseudoscience that evaluates one’s character by locating the bumps on the surface of the head. The inventors of this method found it efficient because there is no way a person can have bumps on the same spot.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Phrenology specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More This idea was generated by a famous German physician called Franz Joseph Gall. He carried out studies on people in different locations and found out that when the bump was located in a specific position the individuals who had them had common personality traits. In phrenology the physicians locate a bump hence evaluate the distance between bumps in order to dictate the kind of behavior that is likely to be displayed by the person in question. Today most people don’t appreciate phrenology like before because they associate it with other arts such as palm reading. They don’t understand how people ca n gauge their behavior by observing their bumps (Bain, 2004). The studies done by Franz Joseph Gall suggest that the outside form of the skull reflect the actual form of the brain. He further found out that the other external parts of the body are interlinked with the brain. Phrenology was later integrated into other fields such as criminology because this concept could explain the character exhibited by a criminal. Wyhe (2004) explains that the physician would run his/her hand on the surface of the patient’s head to feel the bump(s). The bumps here don’t include scars that are found on the head because bumps are protrusions that are on the skull and can be used to define the form of the head.Advertising Looking for essay on psychology? Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Franz stated that the brain was comprised of 27 seven organs and each of them represented different characters in human beings. However, 19 of thes e organs were shared by man and animals hence man was distinct due to the remaining eight organs. During the bump evaluation the actual dimension of the head was gauged. Due to the efficiency of this theory ancient employer begun to use it while selecting the best employees. Additionally, the technique was applied in relationships where partners employed it to evaluate their compatibility. Phrenology was later rejected as a pseudoscience because it resembled astrology in so many ways. Besides, the advancement in scientific studies proved the technique to be misleading. Franz did not take the criticism of his findings lightly because he had managed to make many people believe in his technique. In his studies the twenty seven organs of the brain had individual roles and the one that was felt by the touch of hand was the dominant character. Phrenology tends to be in conflict with science and Holy Scriptures and that’s why other philosophers rejected it because there is no eviden ce concerning its efficiency. Scientists argue that though several children may be fathered by one man or born by the same woman they exist as independent entities hence they have different behaviors which are influenced by their experiences and interests. Phrenology could be very wrong because you can not judge someone’s personality by their outward looks. There are many times when we have been misguided by the outward looks because they don’t reflect the behavior portrayed by the individual.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Phrenology specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Some people feel that behavior is hereditary such that the children tend to follow the footsteps of their parents. But they don’t actually imitate both parents because the child follows the footpath that is dominant that is the father’s or the mother’s behavior (Gregory, 2004). In addition to that, there are those who view character as being repetitive in sequential generations. This means that the characters that were present among our forefathers will continue to exist in successive generations. That’s why parents are amazed by the behavior exhibited by their children because neither of them possesses such personality. However, there are other advanced techniques that have been developed to evaluate people’s behavior such as when they are lying. Most of these techniques are used in criminology to determine whether a suspect is guilty or innocent. References Bain, Alexander. (2004). Population growth in Africa essayEssay Writing Service

Population growth in Africa essayEssay Writing Service Population growth in Africa essay Population growth in Africa essayToday many developing countries are concerned about population-related challenges, which have a strong impact on social, cultural and economic development of human society. Africa is no exception. The growth of population in Africa is a key factor that lies at the root of many population-related challenges. According to researchers, â€Å"currently, the developing world accounts for about 95% of the population growth with Africa as the world’s fastest growing continent† (Hartemink, 2007, p. 85). In other words, Africa faces more population-related challenges than any other continent. Besides, many African countries are dependent on the industrial market economies of the developed countries as their domestic economies are unstable. Researches state that â€Å"poorly managed African economies remain essentially in the state of deterioration† (Mbaku, 2004, p. 102). There are three major population-related challenges in Africa, includ ing starvation, urbanization which leads to inadequate housing, improper health care, and poverty. As African population has been growing rapidly, â€Å"from 221 million in 1950 to 1 billion in 2009,† the population-related challenges affect the life of each African family to a great extent (Africa Hunger and Poverty Facts, 2014). The rapid population growth, along with a wide range of other factors, such as poor economic system, deterioration in the environment and the spread of criminal violence, has considerably limited the â€Å"growth in per capita income, causing poverty and hunger† (Africa Hunger and Poverty Facts, 2014). The best strategy to address the major population-related challenges in Africa is the promotion of population control programs that will help to provide adequate conditions for social, economic and cultural development of people. The major goal of this paper is to identify three major population-related challenges in Africa, and present a strate gy to effectively address these problems.Three major population-related challenges in Africa  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   The major population-related challenges in Africa are caused by the largest population growth. Three significant population-related challenges in Africa include starvation, urbanization and poverty.Starvation as one of the major population-related problems in AfricaOne of the major population-related problems Africa faces today is the lack of enough food to feed all the people. According to researchers, â€Å"starvation and famines have ravaged several African countries† (Hartemink, 2007, p. 85). Somalis, Ethiopia, Angola, Sudan and many other African countries have faced serious problems caused by severe food shortages since the 1950-60s. Today the problem of starvation is an acute one in Africa. The growth of African population leads to the growing number of underweight children. The statistical data show that about â€Å"33 percent of ch ildren are underweight in Africa† (Hall, 2006, p. 6). Starvation is caused by a wide range of factors, including economic, environmental, political and social factors. The African continent includes fifty four countries, and practically each country has encountered food crises (Hall, 2006).  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Actually, food-related problems in African countries have been widely discussed in the media. According to researchers, â€Å"the continued struggle to meet basic food needs has made it difficult for policymakers to devote any effort or resources to general economic development†(Mbaku, 2007, p. 9). African policymakers lack the required industrial base to achieve the surficial amount of products in food production industry, as well as the adequate foreign exchange that could allow to â€Å"import food from abroad to meet domestic shortages† (Mbaku, 2007, p. 9).  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   As a matter of fact, food is considered to be one of the major needs for all human beings. African people encounter inadequate distribution of food that fails to maintain good health condition of population. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, â€Å"about 239 million people in sub-Saharan Africa were hungry or undernourished in 2010† (Africa Hunger and Poverty Facts, 2014).Urbanization as one of the significant population-related problemsUrbanization is another significant population-related problem in Africa. Researchers state that â€Å"since the late1960s, Africans have been moving from the rural and agricultural sectors to the urban sectors in large numbers† (Mbaku, 1997, p. 7). There are several factors that led to the increased rate of urbanization, including the lack of opportunities for economic development of people living in rural areas, the increased growth of population in rural areas, etc.   For example, in many countries of South Africa, rural people have to migr ate to the urban areas because of decreased farming opportunities. As a result, African people find themselves in the urban areas absolutely unprepared for urban life. They lack the required education, cannot speak English well, and have to support large families. They have to live in â€Å"crowded and unhealthy quarters,† being used as the cheap labor force (Mbaku, 2007, p. 7).  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Urbanization has led to the problem of overcrowding in many urban areas of African countries. The increased demand for a wide range of infrastructural services places emphasis on other challenges caused by urbanization, including inadequate housing, the lack of the required amount of medical facilities, etc. (Mbaku, 2007).Poverty as one of the major population-related problems in African countries  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Poverty is one of the major population-related problems in Africa. Poverty is considered to be the major cause of hunge r in African countries.   In Africa, people do not have sufficient income to buy enough food to feed children. According to statistical data, in 2008, â€Å"about 47 percent of the population of sub-Saharan Africa lived on $1.25 a day or less, a principal factor in causing widespread hunger† (Africa Hunger and Poverty Facts, 2014).  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In addition, poverty leads to the spread of diseases, which jeopardize the lives of many African people. There are several factors that lead to spread of poverty in Africa, including not only diseases, but also natural disasters, warfare, forced migration, bad governance and illiteracy† (Brenzinger, 2009, p. 37). Actually, poverty in many African countries relates to certain social challenges, such as the lack of education and improper well-being. Besides, poverty in Africa can be characterized by some physical features, such as â€Å"short life expectancy and severe malnutrition† (Brenzing er, 2009, p. 37). Droughts in tropical Africa produce natural disasters. As a result, people face chronic food shortages, as well as lack sufficient food security. In some areas, African people have no access to clean drinking water and they face poor sanitation conditions.Presentation of the strategy to effectively addressthe major population-related problems in AfricaAs the majority of countries in Africa are characterized by relatively high population growth, the strategy to effectively address the major population-related challenges should be aimed at reduction population growth rate. Population-related challenges have led to the crises in many countries of Africa, including Sudan, Ethiopia, Chad, Somalia, Rwanda, and other countries with excessive population growth and poor eco-systems. It would be better to develop an effective strategy that will provide control over child bearing. It is necessary to develop the health care reform that would allow African women to have no more than two children (now they have five- six children) (Africa Hunger and Poverty Facts, 2014). According to researchers, in 1970s, the governments of many African countries were advised to develop national population control programs. These programs could encourage all citizens to assess the â€Å"dangers of uncontrolled population growth, educating them on the economic and social impact of bringing forth new lives without corresponding economic empowerment to bring them up† (Mataen, 2012, p. 23). However, these programs had no positive impact on African women, although in some countries the â€Å"number of children per woman came down from 7.2 to 6.5† (Mataen, 2012, p. 23).Today it is necessary to make this strategy more effective. It would be better to involve the developed countries that could act as sponsors in promoting population control programs in Africa. The governments of African countries should be focused on joint efforts in reduction the increased rate of population growth (Mataen, 2012). The governments of African countries should be aimed at extension of basic primary education, which will allow African people to find jobs and support their families. Besides, the governments should promote basic health care services to the larger part of their population. So, population growth should be reduced to create adequate conditions for social, economic and cultural development of people (Mataen, 2012).Conclusion  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Thus, it is necessary to conclude that today African countries face serious population-related challenges that have a strong impact on social, cultural and economic development of people in Africa. The rapid growth of population is a key factor that lies at the root of many population-related challenges, including poverty, urbanization and starvation. The governments of African countries should develop effective strategies to reduce the increased rate of population growth and provide adeq uate conditions for social, economic and cultural development of people. The promotion of population control programs in Africa is the best solution to the existing population-related challenges.

Reflection on strategy management tasks Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Reflection on strategy management tasks - Essay Example First of all, I made an approach to understand each and every aspects of the task. Then several secondary researches were executed in order to collect suitable information and data within a quick period of time. The PEST analysis was easy to implement in this study. The recent political, economical, technological and economical scenarios of the industry can be obtained easily from text books or other academic journals. These sources helped to provide reliable data and information of the specific industry. Horizon scanning was the most difficult part in this task. It is very much difficult for a manager to estimate future threat and opportunities. Inadequate detection of early signs can affect the financial stability of the firm. On the other hand, the economic and political situation is changing constantly. Therefore, this part of the task has created several initial problems. I learned several significant and important things while completing the first task. Industry analysis and Ho rizon scanning were the two most interesting parts of this task. Through the industry analysis, an analyst can gain important knowledge about the situation of external environment. On the other hand, effective Horizon scanning can increase the future estimation and analytical skill that can increase the productivity of a manager. The second task is all about the
